A search of the suspect's vehicle also turned up underwear and mail from other burglary victims, they said.

Jorge L. Navaheredia, 28, of Sicklerville, had broken into several women's homes in March, according to Glassboro police.

On Wednesday, March 9, at approximately 5:03 a.m., Glassboro police received a 9-1-1 call from a female resident at an address on North Main Street.

The caller reported that she woke up to find an unknown man in her bedroom. She confronted the man, who fled from the bedroom and out of the home. The caller advised that moments later, she heard someone in the kitchen and went downstairs to find the same man back in the residence. He then fled again from the house. The residents of the home reported cash and other personal items like clothing and shoes missing from the residence.

Through surveillance video and the subsequent investigation, the suspect was identified as Navaheredia, police said. Surveillance video showed the suspect entering the residence several times over a 45-minute period.

On Saturday, March 19, at approximately 6:27 a.m., Glassboro officers were dispatched to another residence in town for a report of a burglary. The female caller reported hearing someone in her residence before coming face-to-face with the suspect, who was standing at her bathroom door. The suspect walked away and the victim closed and locked her door. She contacted 9-1-1 and remained on the phone while police responded to her location, advising she could still hear the subject inside her house.

The caller and her roommate remained locked in their bedrooms upstairs while police made entry into the home. As the police were clearing the residence, they encountered the suspect hiding inside a kitchen cabinet under the sink, police said.

The suspect was removed from the cabinet and detained without further incident. He was identified as Jorge Navaheredia, police said.

After removing Navaheredia from the cabinet, officers observed several female panties in the cabinet where he was found, they said. The residents confirmed they did not know Navaheredia, at which time he was placed under arrest.

Navaheredia's vehicle was located parked outside the victim's residence. In plain view, additional female panties were observed and several pieces of mail from the victim's residence was observed on the front seat, police said. The vehicle was impounded pending the approval of a search warrant.

Navaheredia was charged with three counts of burglary and criminal trespass, two counts of theft and two counts of harassment. Navaheredia was being held in the Salem County Jail pending a detention hearing.

On Tuesday, March 22, a Superior Court Judge approved a search warrant for Navaheredia's vehicle.  Several more female panties were recovered from the vehicle, along with additional items taken during the burglaries, police said.
